Liverpool’s last three FA Cup defeats at Anfield have all been to second tier sides

Barnsley and Reading have haunted the Reds at home in FA Cup and now Wolves join them after their 2-1 win

LIVERPOOL continue their torrid form against second-tier opposition in the FA Cup at Anfield following their fourth round defeat to Wolves.

Paul Lambert's side took the lead after just 53 seconds after Richard Stearman's header before Andreas Weimann doubled their lead just before half time, with Divock Origi scoring a consolation goal for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Liverpool's last three home FA Cup defeats have come against second-tier opposition with their 2-1 defeat to Wolves, Barnsley knocked them out in 2008 and Reading progressed in 2010.

The Tykes sunk the Reds following a a dramatic injury-time winner from Brian Howard.

Dirk Kuyt initially gave Liverpool the lead after being set up by Ryan Babel but their lead was cancelled out by Stephen Foster  who headed in Martin Devaney's.

On this occasion Rafa Benitez's side pressed their opponents - forcing a string of great saves from Luke Steele, with Harry Kewell also hitting the bar for the hosts.

Whilst the Royals progressed on this occasion after a replay following an initial 1-1 draw at the Madejski Stadium.

Academy graduate, Simon Church, gave Reading the lead but Steven Gerrard equalised 12 minutes later for Benitez's side.

And during the replay at Anfield Shane Long bagged the winner as Reading came back from behind against the Premier League side.

Again, Gerrard was at the centre of Liverpool's goal after his effort fortunately deflected into the back of the net off Reading's Ryan Bertrand.

But Gylfi Sigurdsson equalised from the spot after Long was brought down, before the latter went on to score the winner in extra time.
