Ayew is currently representing Ghana and Clement will be keeping a close eye on his progress when his side face Cameroon in the semi-final on Thursday.

The 25-year-old is also the brother of former Swans player Andre Ayew who spent last campaign at the Liberty Stadium before earning a £20million transfer to West Ham.

Speaking of his new signing manager Clement said: "I'm sure his brother has given him the inside crack on the club.

"He is a very good acquisition. He's versatile and dynamic to attack the lines and get in behind defences.

"He will certainly give us something different to what we've got."

Taylor played 179 games for the Welsh side with his last appearance coming in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace this month.

And Clement added: "Neil has been a great servant for this club. I had a really nice discussion with him about his position.

"He said he wanted to take this opportunity and I supported that. It's the right time for him to have a new challenge and we wish him all the best."
