Watford transfer news: Tim Krul pulls plug on loan move to join AZ Alkmaar instead because medical was too LONG
Newcastle goalie was keen on regular football at Vicarage Road after ending Ajax spell but was left incensed by medical
TIM KRUL pulled the plug on a loan move to Watford because his medical was too LONG.
Reports claim the Newcastle goalie was set to link up with Walter Mazzarri on deadline day.
But Watford’s lengthy vetting process was not to Krul’s liking, so the Dutchman quickly boarded a flight back home and ended up signing for AZ Alkmaar instead.
Krul was originally keen on moving to Vicarage Road after calling time on his brief loan spell at Ajax.
But De Telegraaf via reports he became incensed by Watford’s drawn-out process, and allegedly complained: “Every bone and every muscle looked at.”
After a number of hours at the Hornet’s training ground, Krul decided enough was enough and he boarded an EasyJet flight to Schipol in the Netherlands.
AZ couldn’t believe their luck when the veteran turned up for talks and a deal was quickly thrashed out, leaving Watford empty-handed.
