Gareth Bale back in full training next week and will be fit for Champions League tie with Napoli

Real Madrid star posts video of his fitness regime to add to several tweets charting his progress along the comeback trail

GARETH BALE is on the comeback trail and looks certain to be fit to face Napoli in the Champions League for Real Madrid on February 15.

He'll also make Wales' vital World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin next month.

Bale has been sidelined since undergoing ankle surgery on November 29 but the former Southampton and Tottenham is ready for a return to full training with Real in the next few days.

There were initial fears that he could be sidelined until April but they proved to be unfounded.

He is already undergoing light training and appears to be targeting a return to action in Real’s game against Espanyol on February 18.

Soon afterwards the La Liga leaders continue the defence of their Champions League crown against Napoli.

A video posted by Bale confirms he is closing in on a return to action and it follows several tweets showing his fitness regime over the past few weeks.

And that's music to the ears of Welsh boss Chris Coleman after Wales' tricky start to their World Cup qualifiers.

Ireland are four points ahead of Wales with four games played in Group D.

It means the first clash between the teams could be potentially decisive for both of them in their respective bids to qualify for Russia 2018.
