Sergio Aguero: Manchester City star to fight Gabriel Jesus for starting spot under Pep Guardiola after signing new contract
Argentine striker was left out of 4-0 win over West Ham in favour of youngster but is confident of winning place back
SERGIO AGUERO wants to stay at Manchester City and fight Gabriel Jesus for a starting spot.
The Argentine striker was left out of City’s line-up by Pep Guardiola on Wednesday — in favour of the new Brazil sensation, 19.
Serg was pictured looking stony-faced on the bench as City beat West Ham 4-0 and, for the first time since his 2011 arrival, he has a major battle for his place.
But sources close to Aguero, 28, insist that he is happy at the Etihad and is determined to be there next season.
He extended his deal to 2020 last month and City boss Guardiola wants to find a way of getting both Aguero and Jesus into his team.
