JUST THE ONE

Borussia Dortmund 1 RB Leipzig 0: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores the only goal of the game as BVB move up to third in the table

The home side completely bossed the match at the Signal Iduna Park and should have found the back of the net on more occasions

BORUSSIA DORTMUND moved up to third in the table for the first time since November after beating RB Leipzig 1-0 at the Signal Iduna Park.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game after he tapped in with his head after great work from Ousmane Dembele.

Aubameyang was causing problems for the Leipzig defence right from the go, stretching the back four with his electric pace and missing early on in the sixth minute.

The Gabonese striker then led a counter attack shortly after running the length of the pitch, skipping past his markers before whipping in a cross that Dembele couldn't get a clean connection on.

Dortmund were getting closer and the former Saint-Etienne star headed just over after Dembele's fine cross.

Then in 35th minute that combo then struck in deadly fashion, the 19-year-old winger expertly took on two players with ease before finding Aubameyang with an inch-perfect delivery who headed home into an empty net.

It should have been 2-0 right after the break, Aubameyang yet again the man to lead the counter, he slipped Marco Reus in, but once inside the box he dragged his shot wide of the left-hand post when he should have scored.

Once again they missed a key chance - the Gabon international raced through, before cutting in on his right foot, but his shot is saved low in the centre of the goal.

Reus then again was unlucky, as Lukasz Piszczek slotted him through on goal, but his driven low shot went wide of the bottom left corner.

Matthias Ginter then almost doubled Dortmund's lead but his shot was blocked off the line in the 91st minute.

Leipzig were then incensed after Federico Palacios-Martinez's goal was ruled out for offside, but replays show that it was the correct decision.
