Aguero extended his commitments to City until 2020 after agreeing a one-year contract extension at the start of this season.

But despite putting pen to paper, his role in Guardiola's XI is being questioned as he may not be the perfect striker the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss is looking for.

It's believed City were determined to tie down the forward in the summer to maintain the player's value.
