Arsenal players hold clear-the-air talks in bid to save their season from collapse after Chelsea defeat

Gunners stars decide to put everything on the table in effort to shake themselves back into form

ARSENAL'S players have held a clear-the-air meeting in a desperate attempt to stop their season collapsing around them.

The Gunners are now all-but-out of the Premier League title race for another year following their 3-1 thrashing by rivals Chelsea last week.

That defeat at Stamford Bridge came hot on the heels of a woeful display as they crashed to a damaging loss to Watford at the Emirates.

So the players decided enough was enough and called everyone together in an attempt to thrash out their differences and try to get their campaign back on track.

Publicly no-one at the club has conceded the title, but with Chelsea now 12 points ahead of them they know it will take a huge reversal in fortunes to claim top spot.

Just as worrying is the threat to their place in the Champions League next season, with Liverpool and Manchester united close behind them in the race for a top four finish.

claim the atmosphere at the club's London Colney training ground has been far from happy, and there is understood to have been a downbeat attitude among the squad.



So they got together on Tuesday for a no-holds-barred meeting where players spoke up about what they felt was going wrong - and how they could turn their form around.

Arsenal take on Hull this week knowing nothing less than victory over the relegation strugglers will lift the mood among supporters who have become increasingly unsettled in recent weeks.

The uncertainty over the future of Arsene Wenger as manager has done little to help, with even the squad unsure whether he will be in charge next season.

But Hull have shown signs they have turned things around under new manager Marco Silva, having drawn with United and beaten Liverpool in their last two matches.
