Spurs boss Pochettino said: "Hitchen is true. But we will wait until the club announce.

"It is one thing to confirm and another to release details. It is a different position to the head of recruitment."

Super spy Hitchen was responsible for bringing in Luka Modric during his first spell at White Hart Lane, and even found Luis Suarez while he was at Holland.

Both players were respectively sold to Real Madrid and Barcelona - for a combined £105MILLION fee - after setting the Premier League alight.

Hitchen's most recent role was joint-director of recruitment at Derby.

Pochettino was also reassuring about Danny Rose's injury.

The left-back saw a specialist on Monday about his knee KO.

Rose, 26, will miss Saturday's clash against Liverpool and is likely to be out until March.

Poch said: "He is very positive, we are very positive.

"It is not a big issue, a minor problem, small problem."
