Bundesliga champions' financial partner Jan-Christian Dreeson revealed the staggering offer made by the Red Devils
MANCHESTER UNITED launched a staggering £85million for Thomas Muller, which was rejected by Bayern Munich.
The club's financial partner Jan-Christian Dreeson, told , that United made a monstrous bid for the World Cup winner in the summer.
When asked if the offer was in the region of £85million, Dreeson said: "There really was something like that.
"Then came a fax from England. For us, however, a sale of Thomas Müller was never discussed. If a player fits us, we would be stupid to give him a short-term prospect of a record profit and to weaken him."
Jose Mourinho missed out on the German but was still able to welcome Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club in the summer.
