The big-spending French giants have been linked numerous times with the Barcelona superstar in their quest for European dominance.

Messi is rumoured to be unsettled at the Nou Camp and time is ticking down on his lucrative contract.

Barcelona chiefs are hopeful he will stay put but a big-money offer from the French capital could turn his head.

And Kluivert admits the current Ligue 1 champs would love to add Messi to their ranks after missing out on teammate Neymar last summer.

He said: “Messi? Never say never. The football world might want that but I think Messi is currently happy in Barcelona.

“Am I going to try to sign him? I never said that. He is like Neymar, Messi is a player every team in the world would like to acquire.

“We played a great game [against Barcelona]. All the players were at 100 per cent. When we played like that, our opponents struggle.”
