Barcelona already went into the season short of options at full-back with Aleix Vidal the only recognised right-sided defender.

And Vidal had his season cut short two weeks ago when he sustained a horrific ankle injury at Alaves.

The Catalans are now moving quickly to find a replacement as Luis Enrique does not trust makeshift right-back Sergi Roberto.

Watford defender Juanfran is expected to cut short his loan at Deportivo to make a £6.75m move to the Nou Camp in the near future.

The former Real Madrid Castilla captain joined the Hornets in 2014 but has yet to make a single appearance at Vicarage Road.
