He is now considering his future in the game, and has been offered jobs tasting pies professionally.
Wayne, who weighs 23st, told The Sun last week he simply wanted to make the crowd laugh towards the end of Sutton’s heroic 2-0 FA Cup defeat on Monday night.
He said: “The Arsenal fans were constantly singing about me, and shouting ‘Who ate all the pies?’
“There was a lot of banter, and I thought I could have a bit of fun here. I took a big bite and waved it in the air towards them, but it was all in good spirit.”
The loss of Shaw failed to affect the result however as Sutton went on the win their match agaisnt Torquay 3-2.
