Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini has Wembley goal WRONGLY ruled out for offside
Italian star thought he had given Saints the lead... but his strike in EFL Cup Final is chalked off
SOUTHAMPTON were furious that their cup dreams were snatched away from them at Wembley by a controversial offside decision.
Just 11 minutes had gone when the Saints had the ball in the net against Manchester United - but their celebrations were quickly cut short.
Ryan Bertrand had free down the left and fired a ball right across the box.

Right-back Cedric Soares collected possession, and his low cross was converted by Manolo Gabbiadini to spark pandemonium in the Southampton end.
But the assistant referee soon brought things to a stop as he flagged for offside - despite the Italian striker being clearly ONSIDE.
Bertrand, who was stood behind Gabbiadini, was in an offside position, but he wasn't interfering with play.
And the decision left a sour taste in Claude Puel's mouth, with the Saints manager clearly showing his frustration at the decision.
And things got worse less than ten minutes later when United took the lead courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic free-kick.
And that was doubled before the break as Jesse Lingard made it two.
