MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a shock move for Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard was linked with a move AC Milan in January - but opted to stay at Stamford Bridge to help the Blues title push.
The Daily Telegraph report Milan are ready to table a £27million bid for Fabregas, with United prepared to step in if Chelsea decide to do business.
The 29-year-old celebrated his 300th Premier League game with a goal in Saturday's 3-1 win against Swansea - rubber-stamping his importance as the Blues close in on a second title in three years.
The United boss is a big admirer of the former Arsenal man. While in charge at Chelsea in 2014 he signed Fabregas for £30million, and the midfielder was instrumental in the title-winning side that season.
The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford under former boss David Moyes in 2013, but decided to stay at the Nou Camp for another season.
