Jordan Henderson’s injury looks worse than first feared as Liverpool captain is pictured on crutches

Reds midfielder Jordan Henderson missed training ahead of match with Burnley and looks set to be out for a long time

LIVERPOOL captain Jordan Henderson looks set for a long injury layoff after being pictured on crutches.

He missed training, along with Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino, yesterday and now it appears his injury is far worse than first feared.

Henderson picked up an injury in training ahead of Liverpool's match against Leicester two weeks ago, with many fearing he had broken a metatarsal.

But scans showed he had only suffered severe bruising, rather than breaking his foot.

Jurgen Klopp's side are looking to get revenge on Burnley for a shock 2-0 loss at Turf Moor in August.

Goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray gave the Clarets victory on the second day of the season with just 20 per cent possession.

But Sean Dyche's men only have two points away from home this season and Liverpool will be expected to pick up a win with or without their captain.
