Kevin De Bruyne asked Jose Mourinho for PUBLIC training sessions while at Chelsea to prove boss wrong
Belgian failed to make the grade under now-Man Utd manager before earning huge £54m move to rivals Man City
KEVIN DE BRUYNE wanted training at Chelsea made public — to prove Jose Mourinho wrong.
Mourinho accused KDB, 25, of being a lazy trainer when he managed the star at Stamford Bridge.
But the Belgian, now starring for Manchester City, has blasted back.
City’s £54million midfielder said: “Mourinho said I wasn’t doing what was needed in training.
“It was easy to say that because there was no one to check it — the training sessions were closed to the public.
“But everyone knows I am not like that. I never let anyone put me down. I say what I have to say, with respect of course.
“But at that moment, I couldn’t do anything because he would have said I was lying and afterwards he’d have used it.”

KDB, speaking to France Football, added: “Did I ask for training to be done in public? I said it, yes, but not to him personally.”
De Bruyne was eventually sold to Wolfsburg for £18million in 2014 before his huge move to the Etihad just 18 months later.
