The 21-year-old forward is son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and has scored 11 goals in 27 appearances for the Serie A side.

Despite Lukaku rejecting a fresh five-year deal, Everton remain hopeful of keeping hold of their star striker.

Koeman insists the club will not be held to ransom over Lukaku's uncertain future as time is running out for the forward and homegrown star Ross Barkley.

Lukaku's reasoning for rejecting a new extension was because he feels as though Everton lack ambition, after failing to land big-name stars.

The 23-year-old's situation has alerted his former club Chelsea, with the Blues considering a replacement for Diego Costa.

Chelsea's prolific forward has previously linked with a lucrative move to China, meaning Antonio Conte will be wary of who will be his next star striker.
