Another Premier League target, Fabinho, scored from the penalty spot early in the second half to double Monaco's lead away to Caen, before Mbappe added a third late on.
Mbappe has burst onto the scene most prominently in the past month or so, having netted 11 times in his past nine games, as Monaco now boast the most lethal strike-force in Europe.
The French star even scored once as Monaco won 3-1 against Manchester City in the crucial Champions League last-16, second-leg, as well as another in the first-leg at the Etihad.
Monaco are indebted to Mbappe recently as his goals have helped fire them to the top of Ligue 1, as they look to finally end Paris Saint-Germain's dominance.
Meanwhile, they are also set to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals after their dream run this year.
