BOURNEMOUTH boss Eddie Howe is planning to rescue Jermain Defoe from relegation with Sunderland — and keep his England dream alive.
The striker, 34, has been outstanding for the Black Cats despite their woes under David Moyes, but he would look to move on if they are relegated as seems likely.

He has fond memories of the Cherries from a loan spell in his teens when he scored his first senior goal for them.
