However, Wilshere opted to stay in the Premier League and join Bournemouth on transfer deadline day, where he is now struggling to get in Cherries boss Eddie Howe's starting line up.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners academy product is keen to explore the Milan option again this summer having seen Manchester City keeper Joe Hart enjoy his time in Italy.
Wenger, despite allowing Wilshere to leave last August is a big fan of the midfielder.
But the Frenchman's future is also uncertain with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Another issue to be addressed is with the amount of midfielders at Arsenal, where does Wilshere fit in and can he stay fit to command a place in the starting line up?
But if Wilshere decides to move on, he will have plenty of suitors with Watford, Crystal Palace, Roma and Benfica all showing interest.
