THE CHAMPIONSHIP’S top-two goal machines have been rewarded with nominations for the EFL player of the year award.

Towering Leeds hotshot Chris Wood is on the shortlist after grabbing 24 league goals so far this season.

League One leaders Sheffield United have two nominations in the running for their division’s gong.

Leading scorer Billy Sharp was a shoo-in after bagging 26 goals already and he is joined by team-mate John Fleck on the three-man list.

Scunthorpe striker Josh Morris completes the line-up after scoring 19 league goals for the promotion chasers.

Marquis is joint-top scorer with 23 goals while 36-year-old veteran Coppinger has notched nine in 35 league appearances so far.

Luton Town’s Danny Hylton is the third man in the frame for the gong after he scored 19 goals.
