BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER is on route to Chicago to see out his playing days at the MLS side.
The ex-Manchester United midfielder signed for Chicago Fire earlier in the month after being deemed surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho.
The German World Cup winner was waiting for his visa application before jetting off to the US and embarking on the next chapter of his illustrious career.

And Schweinsteiger couldn't hide his excitement as he took to Twitter to pose with a picture alongside wife Ana Ivanovic.
Clutching his passport and boarding pass, Schweinsteiger accompanied the picture with the caption: "On my way to Chicago with @anaivanovic!"
And they will be keen to get the veteran in the starting line-up after picking up a single win in the opening three matches of the season.
But he may be short of match fitness having failed to play a single minute of Premier League football this campaign.
Schweinsteiger, 32, penned a one-year contract worth £70,000-a-week, with the option to extend by a further 12 months.
