Galatasaray to fly to England to try and seal a deal for Wilfried Bony after being frozen out by Stoke
The Ivorian is on loan with the Potters but the Turkish club are set to meet with Manchester City for talks over a potential move
GALATASARAY will fly to England this weekend to try to seal a deal for outcast Wilfried Bony.
The Ivory Coast striker is out in the cold at Stoke, having previously suffered an 18-month nightmare at Manchester City.
Bony, 28, cost £28million when he moved from Swansea to the Etihad in the summer of 2015.
Yet he never cracked it at City and joined Stoke on loan for the season in August in an effort to revive his fortunes.
After regular action at the start of the campaign, he has been dumped in the wilderness and admitted his move to the Potteries had been a disaster.
Now Turkish giants Galatasaray hope to resurrect his career — although they are some distance of City’s asking price.
Etihad top brass would like to recoup as much of their outlay as possible, yet the Istanbul club do not want to pay much beyond £12m.
Their chances rest on how much City want to get his £125,000-a-week wages off the books, with Pep Guardiola planning a massive summer rebuild.

Yet he has not figured since the turn of the year, with his last start coming against Bournemouth in November, and one cameo off the bench the following month.
In all, he has kicked off just ten games for Stoke, prompting Galatasaray to try to buy him on the cheap.
Bony has two seasons remaining on his contract after this season but Turkish officials hope talks with their City counterparts will get their man.
