Everton striker Lukaku, 23, is the Prem's top scorer with 23 goals to date.

His deadly finishing has seen him linked with a return to Chelsea and a move to Manchester United.

Arsenal ace Sanchez, 28, fired the Gunners up the table nearer the beginning of the league.

Despite the north London side's recent form, he remains a key player for Arsene Wenger.

United forward Ibrahimovic, 35, has proven that age is just a number.

Saying he feels like Benjamin Button, the outspoken Swede has done his talking on the pitch, bagging 28 goals in all competitions in his debut Premier League season.

Chelsea winger Hazard, 26, is back to his brilliant best under Antonio Conte this term.

He has helped lead the Blues' title charge and scored 14 league goals along the way.

Injuries have hampered the England star this term but he has left a lasting impression whenever he has played.

Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez won the gong in 2016 after a remarkable campaign.

The Algerian scored 18 goals and helped steer the Foxes towards an historic Premier League title triumph.

PFA Chief Executive, Gordon Taylor OBE, said: “The PFA Awards is always a special occasion and one of the biggest nights in football’s social calendar.

“For the winners who are honoured at the awards, there can be no greater personal accolade than that of being recognised by your peers; an honour to be cherished.”

Ex-Tottenham star Jermaine Jenas was amazed by the decision to leave out Alli from the shortlist.

He tweeted: "No Dele Alli in the top six for the PFA Player of the Year award!"

"How much more does the guy need to do?"
