Gary Neville rips into Chelsea after the Blues fall apart against Manchester United without ‘decent’ left-back Marcos Alonso
The former Red Devils defender lambasted the West Londoners after they couldn't cope without just one outfield player
CHELSEA have been lambasted by Gary Neville after the Blues struggled to adapt without left-back Marcos Alonso.
Antonio Conte's men lost Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford to blow the title race wide open.
The West London club were the second to the ball, and were sluggish in attack and sloppy in defence.
Tottenham Hotspur now trail Chelsea by just four points in the Premier League, with just six games to play, and Neville has criticised the 2012 Champions League winners for not replacing Alonso in the line-up.
He said post-match: "If they'd have lost Hazard and Costa and come here to lose I'd say fair enough.
"They've lost Alonso, are they that finely-tuned that they lose a left-back, he's a decent left back but he's not Roberto Carlos! And we're saying that basically they can just fall apart?

"It did imbalance them without the left-foot of Alonso, there is no doubt about that."
"A little bit worrying that it does though, one injury to your outfield player, that was the perfect Chelsea team apart from one player.
He was critical of the Blues that other clubs have coped with injury problems, not just one outfield player.
Neville said: "United had six or seven players missing, Liverpool had Lallana, Henderson, Mane out so every team misses players.
"So to think that one player missing would have that level of disturbance..."
The 42-year-old went on to say Chelsea may have to dip into the transfer market in the summer to find a replacement for the Spanish 26-year-old.
"It is disturbing moving forward, it is a glimpse moving forward for Chelsea if they are going to drop so far with one or two injuries, they do need to strengthen that squad."
