Solanke has not been able to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge with a believed lack of the first-team opportunities said to be behind his decision to depart.

The England Under-21s international, who was this week named in the U20s World Cup squad, is viewed by Brendan Rodgers as the ideal replacement for Dembele.

The Hoops’ top scorer, who moved to Parkhead in similar fashion from Fulham a year ago, has a host of European giants chasing his signature.

Chelsea and Manchester United are two of the Premier League clubs chasing the 20-year-old French forward’s signature.

And they are expected to join a number of others in making a big-money bid for the hotshot at the end of the season.

That has led to the odds on Celtic landing Solanke to drop.

He scored seven goals in 25 Eredivisie matches for Vitesse Arnhem in Holland last season but has spent this campaign with the Chelsea youth side.

He scored seven goals in 25 Eredivisie matches for Vitesse Arnhem in Holland last season but has spent this campaign with the Chelsea youth side.

Arsenal and Liverpool were leading the race out of the Premier League clubs interested in the starlet.

However, they would have to pay a large compensation fee to the Blues under transfer law.

But Scottish sides are classed as being abroad, and therefore the cost to the Glasgow-based club would be minimal.

Bundesliga high-flyers Red Bull Leipzig are also believed to have held talks with the prodigy’s representatives about a potential switch to Germany.
