PSV want to keep Chelsea ace Marco van Ginkel on loan for one more season after stellar campaign

Marco van Ginkel has been on loan for PSV Eindhoven this season

PSV EINDHOVEN want to keep Chelsea loanee Marco van Ginkel for another season after starring for them this season.

The 24-year-old has been at Stamford Bridge since 2013 and has had three loan stints during his young career.

The Holland international spent time at AC Milan before having a good stint on loan at Stoke last season.

But it has been this season at PSV where he has really shone.

Van Ginkel has thrived in midfield at the Philips Stadion and the Dutch club hope to keep him there for at least one more season.

He is expected to report back in London for pre-season training with Chelsea but it remains to be seen what Antonio Conte's plans are for the midfielder.

PSV sporting director Marcel Brands told : "We are keen to keep Marco at the club. Both a loan deal or a permanent move could be an option.

"We tried to bring him in on an 18-month loan deal in January, but Chelsea told us they wanted to re-evaluate his situation during the summer."

Chelsea currently have 24 players out on loan, including Baba Rahman, Andreas Crhistiansen, Juan Cuadrado and Loic Remy.

But with a strong group of youngsters coming through the academy, the club are bound to offload some of their reserve stars.

Meanwhile the Blues are reportedly turning their transfer attentions to Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata as they look to bolster their attacking options if Diego Costa leaves in the summer.
