Manchester United star Ander Herrera undergoes random drugs test after Europa League semi-final win over Celta Vigo
Red Devils progressed to final with nervy 2-1 aggregate win but Spaniard's celebrations were cut short by officials
ANDER HERRERA has revealed he was selected at random for a drug test after Manchester United’s tense win over Celta Vigo last night.
The Red Devils made it to the Europa League final by the skin of their teeth following a late onslaught from the Spaniards, drawing 1-1 on the night and winning 2-1 on aggregate.
But Herrera was forced to miss out on the celebrations after being chosen by officials to undergo a doping test.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Herrera posted a photo of himself alongside Marouane Fellaini and an unknown woman, writing: “One of the happiest dopping (sic) controls ever.”
The midfielder has been a key man for United this season and is determined to win the Europa League final against Ajax for a number of his fallen teammates.
Herrera told BT Sport: “[Fighting for Zlatan Ibrahimovic?] And for Marcos Rojo as well. He has a very big injury, same as Zlatan and we will fight for both.
“For both, for us, for the injured players – Zlatan, Rojo, Young, Shaw, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling and Jones, they have both been injured. We are a team.”

Reflecting on the Celta Vigo game, Herrera added: “It was a crazy game. I think we were better in the first leg, we deserved to get a better result and today we suffered.
“We suffered but we are in the final, we are happy because we have worked hard to be here and now we must try to win it.”
