Rio Ferdinand omits Manchester United stars as he names his team of the year
Red Devils legend did not name one player from Jose Mourinho's side and selected the stars in a 3-4-3 formation
RIO FERDINAND has not named one Manchester United player in his team of the season - which predominantly consists of Chelsea and Tottenham players.
None of Jose Mourinho's players made the cut, while stars from Liverpool, Everton, Crystal Palace and Burnley were included in the 3-4-3 formation.
The Red Devils legend revealed his team of the year on his with Spencer Owen.
Ferdinand selected Hugo Lloris, Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Michael Keane, Danny Rose, Wilfried Zaha, Dele Alli, N'Golo Kante, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Sadio Mane.
One Man Utd star who may feel hard done by is David De Gea, who was pipped to the goalkeeper spot by Spurs' Lloris.
Wilfried Zaha is not a surprise inclusion, but Owen questioned his position in the team after Ferdinand selected him to play at right-wing back.
Ferdinand said: "He doesn't normally play there, he plays right wing, but I think he can play there.
"He's got a load of assists this year, he's improved this year, end product, scoring some goals and I've seen him just destroy full-backs."
He added: 'Wilfried divides opinion all the time because of the way he plays."
