STEVE MCCLAREN moved a step closer to taking up a new role at Huddersfield as he watched their play-off clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Former England boss McClaren has been linked with the job of director of football at the John Smith's Stadium since the role became vacant last month.
And talk he was close to agreeing a deal to take up the new role grew stronger when he was a guest in the director's box for the first-leg clash with Wednesday.
