SHEFFIELD UNITED star David Brooks pulled out of Wales' Toulon Tournament squad - only to be named in England's just 11 minutes later.

The midfielder had been included in a 20-man party for the Dragons' first appearance in the prestigious Under-20 competition.

The FA of Wales posted a tweet yesterday showing the names of all the players picked with the message: "Wales intermediate manager Rob Page has today announced his 20-man squad for this month's Tournoi Toulon."

However, another tweet posted today at 11.49am said Brooks had withdrawn from the squad.

Rhys Norrington-Davies and Mitchell Clark also pulled out.

Then, when England announced their squad just 11 minutes later at midday, Brooks was included in it.

Brooks can still join Wales at a later date, but the shocking switch left some on social media angry.

One user posted: "Good riddance."

Another said simply: "Scab."

 

 

While another tweeted: "Brooksit."

Wales manager Robert Page said: "It's a frustrating part of the job with dual nationality players. We'll support him in his decision."
