Chelsea have scored more goals from their fearsome Spanish contingent than 18 of La Liga’s 20 clubs in 2016-17, including Barcelona and Real Madrid
Stars including Diego Costa and Pedro have seen the Blues score 40 goals through one of their five Spanish imports
CHELSEA have scored more goals from their fearsome Spanish contingent in 2016-17 than 18 of La Liga's 20 clubs.
Thanks to Diego Costa and Co, Premier League champions the Blues have scored 40 of their 80 top flight goals from a player hailing from Spain.
Costa has scored 20 league goals this term, with Pedro chipping eight, Marcos Alonso six, Cesc Fabregas five and Cesar Azpilicueta just one.
That incredible tally of 40 is more than 18 teams actually playing in the Spanish top flight.
Only Athletic Bilbao (50) and Eibar (45) have scored more goals from the boot of a Spaniard than Chelsea.
Real Madrid have scored 39 times thanks to a Spaniard, but Barcelona are miles behind on just 12 - mostly thanks to the lion's share going to South Americans Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Eibar meanwhile have just five non-Spaniards - Gonzalo Escalante, Takashi Inui, Mauro dos Santos, Florian Lejeune and Bebe.
Meanwhile, back at Stamford Bridge, three of Chelsea's top scorers are Spanish - despite only having five players from the European nation on the books.
