Chelsea captain John Terry wanted by Swansea as Paul Clement confirms he will make an approach this summer
Veteran centre-back to leave Stamford Bridge after 22 years of service this summer but won't be short on new offers
SWANSEA boss Paul Clement has confirmed he will make an approach for out-of-contract Chelsea captain John Terry this summer.
The veteran centre-back is set to call time on his 22-year Stamford Bridge spell and has a host of clubs chasing his signature.
Bournemouth are believed to be leading the race for Terry after making a bold approach in January.
But it now seems that Swansea are ready to throw their hat in the ring as well.
Manager Clement worked alongside Terry while serving as Carlo Ancelotti’s No.2 at Chelsea and would love a reunion in Wales after saving the Swans from relegation.
He said: “The fact is I know John, he is a top player and a free agent.
“So it would only be sensible to have a discussion with him to see if he would be interested.

“But if that is not the case and he would be open to a conversation, then I would be open to that as well.”
