Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund reveal classy new home kits for 2017-18 season
Bayern have reincorporated white stripes, while Dortmund have flashes of black
GERMAN giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have revealed their new kits for next season.
Bayern have looked to a retro classic for inspiration while Dortmund have gone for a fresh, modern design.
Champions Bayern, who won their fifth title in a row this season under Carlo Ancelotti, have picked a striped effort that harks back to their dominant teams of the 1970s.
The stripey kit is similar to the one worn by Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller and Karl-Heinz Rumminegge - that side won three European Cups in a row from 1974 to 1976.
The kit is made by German sportswear giant adidas and modelled by Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller.
Designer Jurgen Rank said: "The new jersey is inspired by one of the most iconic jerseys they had in their glory past.
"At that time, Bayern were basically dominating European football.
"The club and us thought it was time to bring back this great design, but obviously in a modern way."

Bayern are set to wear the kit for the final game of the season against Freiburg.
In contrast, Borussia Dortmund have gone for an ultra-modern look.
The sleek kit, made by adidas rivals Puma, is yellow with faded black stripes running horizontal across the front.
Star man Marco Reus said: "I like the new design that Puma has developed.
"The horizontal stripes with the colour gradient are really cool."
Thomas Tuchel's side will wear the kit on the final day of the Bundesliga season and for the German Cup final in Berlin.
