JOSE MOURINHO is plotting a shock £35million reunion with his old Chelsea enforcer Nemanja Matic.

The Manchester United boss wants Matic — who he signed at Stamford Bridge in 2014 —as part of a new-look midfield for next season.

Serbian Matic, 28, will lift the Premier League title today for the second time at Chelsea after their match with Sunderland.

He was a regular for Antonio Conte this season, starting 30 Premier League games.

And a move will hinge on Conte being willing to let a first-team player go, as he shapes his squad for Champions League football and the defence of their domestic crown.

Mourinho is after two central midfielders this summer — with Eric Dier proving difficult to land from Tottenham.

Chelsea fancy Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Conte has insisted he has faith in Cesc Fabregas.

Matic has two years left on his current terms at the Blues and a new deal has looked in the pipeline but has never been announced.

Mourinho sees Matic as a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, who has been a key performer but turns 36 this summer.

Matic left Chelsea in 2011 for Benfica but was brought back to the club during Mourinho’s second spell as manager.
