ANTOINE GRIEZMANN has declared he wants to stay at Atletico Madrid and fight for honours amid strong interest from Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been linked with a staggering £85million bid for the 26-year-old, who recently revealed he is ready to leave the La Liga giants.

However speaking to Atletico's website, he reiterated his desire to stay with Diego Simeone's side, vowing to compete for trophies.

Griezmann said: "It has been a beautiful year and hopefully I can improve in every year and win trophies with this team.

"I will do everything possible."

He was already talking about next season and how they have to strengthen their squad with his French international team-mate Alexandre Lacazette closing in on a switch to Spain.

The former Real Sociedad star added: "We are happy because we have achieved our goals, maybe we could have done more but it was not to be.

"Next year we'll have new goals and new challenges.

"First we must work on the signings and the team, and then go to San Rafael and build the same dynamic that we have been creating for a long time.

"We have to prepare well in pre-season and start the games with strength from the outset."

Atletico finished third in the table for the third consecutive season, and bowed out in the Champions League and Cope del Rey semi-finals.

Griezmann, who has failed to win a major honour with Los Colchoneros, has banged in 26 goals in all competitions this campaign, and is closing in on 100 goals for the 2014 La Liga winners.
