Old Lady representatives are thought to have met with Monaco officials earlier this week.
They see Fabinho as the natural successor to Dani Alves who is destined to leave them at the end of next season.
But there is one major stumbling block as far as Juventus is concerned.
Fabinho has previously declared his hunger for Premier League football, saying:
"The Premier League is a league that interests me and maybe one day I will come and play here."
And Fabinho’s father and representative Joao confirmed both City and United were on his radar.
"We like Manchester United and Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City,” he said.
