Roy Hodgson desperate to succeed Sam Allardyce as Crystal Palace manager after he resigned last week
The 69-year-old hasn't managed since he left the Three Lions after England crashed out of Euro 2016 after losing against Iceland
ROY HODGSON wants the chance to succeed Sam Allardyce as Crystal Palace manager.
Hodgson has been out of work since quitting England after their 2-1 defeat against Iceland at Euro 2016 last summer.
Hodgson, interviewed by Leicester when Claudio Ranieri was sacked, wants one last job in the game.
The former England chief believes his reputation was damaged last summer and wants a return to the Premier League with Palace.
Allardyce quit Selhurst Park last week, but chairman Steve Parish is taking time to consider his options before naming Palace's next manager.
The Eagles are looking for their eighth manager in seven years and could look to the 69-year-old in their quest to finish in the top ten.
Palace narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League this season as they finished in 14th spot, just seven points above the drop zone.
Hodgson has a wealth of top-flight experience having managed Fulham, Liverpool, West Brom and Blackburn Rovers, as well as Inter Milan for two seasons.
