Borussia Dortmund ‘to appoint ex-Arsenal man Giovanni van Bronckhorst’ to replace Thomas Tuchel
The Dutchman has been a revelation since taking over as head coach at Feyenoord, winning the Eredivise this season
GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST is rumoured to be close to taking over at Borussia Dortmund.
The former Arsenal man has had a sparkling second season in charge at Feyenoord, winning the Eredivisie title for the first time in 18 years.
In his first campaign in charge, van Bronckhorst won the KNVB Cup, defeating FC Utrecht 2-1.
Feyenoord clinched the Dutch league title on the final day this season thanks to a 3-1 win over Heracles Almelo, former Liverpool man Dirk Kuyt netting a hat-trick.
This has alerted Dortmund, according to French newspaper , who are seeking to replace Thomas Tuchel after he left the club earlier this week.
German newspaper , however, believe van Bronckhorst is a big outsider for the job.

On his resignation, Tuchel said: "Thank you to the fans, the team, the staff and to all who have supported us.
“I wish all the best to Borussia Dortmund.”
The Bundesliga side’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted his relationship with Tuchel had become increasingly strained over the decision to face Monaco just a day after the bomb blasts.
The squad was left shaken and defender Marc Barta needed a wrist operation after three explosions hit the Dortmund bus on the way to their first leg on April 11.
Boss Tuchel claimed that he had not been involved in the decision “at all” to play the game just 24 hours later.
Tuchel is thought to have the support of Dortmund chairman Reinhard Rauball.
But Bild claim the breakdown in relations with Watzke saw the end of Tuchel – a year before the end of his contract.
And now seeing the success van Bronckhorst has had at Feyenoord in such a sport space of time, the German club could make their move for a quick appointment.
