Dream Team 2017/18
How does the game work?
- This year's fantasy football game will absolutely FREE for all players to play
- The total prize pot is an approximated £750,000
- Game Weeks will run from Friday to Thursday
- £50m budget on 11 eligible players
Some of you may remember Salah's ill-fated spell at Chelsea a couple of years ago, but a lot has changed since then.
The 24-year-old has grown into a key player for Roma in the last two seasons, has gone from being a bit-part player at Stamford Bridge to one of only eight players to register doubles figures for both goals and assists in Europe's top five leagues last season.
Impressive stuff.
What could this mean for your fantasy football team?
Dream Team's ratings providers, gave Salah a tasty 7.40 rating in all competitions last season, with his 7.48 rating in Serie A particularly juicy.
If you want some context, he outscored Juventus' Paulo Dybala (7.46) and Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic (7.28) in the league, having outscored both Serie A stars in goals and assists.
That takes some doing.
Salah's game is all about speed and trickery, while most of his goals for Roma have come from cutting inside from the left-flank.
The prospect of Salah starting for Liverpool alongside Sadio Mane on the opposite flank is positively mouth-watering, and the Reds could be truly devastating on the counter-attack next season.
What will Liverpool new boy Salah bring to Dream Team?
- 15 goals and 11 assists in Serie A for Roma last season
- Had a higher rating (7.48) than Paulo Dybala (7.46) in Italy last season
- Quick, nippy winger with a point to prove after failed spell at Chelsea
We also expect Salah to get a good number of games under his belt throughout the season with Liverpool's return to the Champions League - which could make him a popular choice for fantasy managers.
Given the values of Salah's future Liverpool teammates Mane and Roberto Firmino (both £4.5m), we think Salah's price of £4.0m this season is a real bargain.
When can I sign up?
You can start getting your teams in as early as July 3 2017 – some six weeks before the Premier League season gets underway.
That gives you an awfully long time to monitor the transfer market and choose your team accordingly, with Liverpool's new signing likely to be hot on the agenda for Dream Team managers.
The closing date for the season game, therefore, will be the first day of the Premier League campaign on August 12 2017.
