Arsenal confirm signing of Schalke full-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer… set to earn a staggering £150,000-a-week
Gunners revealed move for German-born left-back on Twitter in a clever, teasing video before officially announcing deal
ARSENAL have confirmed the signing of Schalke full-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer... with the star set to earn a staggering £150,000-a-week.
The Gunners took to social media to announce the news, using a 'quiz' to reveal the signing in a very subtle and clever way.
The tweet said: "Right, time for a quick quiz…
"The following ten players have been signed by Arsene Wenger - can you spot them all?"
However, the video graphic showed only nine names: Koscielny, Overmars, Ljungberg, Anelka, Sagna, Inamoto, Nacho, Arshavin and Campbell.
Taking each name's first letter spells out, you guessed it, KOLASINAC.
The club followed it up with a series of tweets minutes later confirming Kolasinac's signing.
Wenger recently put pen to paper on a controversial two-year deal and had promised major spending this summer in order to make Arsenal contenders once again.
As well as focusing on £122million-rated Kylian Mbappe, Wenger was keen to bring the ex-Schalke full-back to the Emirates.
Kolasinac had been at Schalke since joining the youth ranks from Stuttgart in 2011.
The 17-cap Bosnia and Herzegovina international turned out 122 times for the Bundesliga side, scoring four times.
Despite being born in Germany, Kolasinac was handed a Bosnian passport in 2013 - as his parents originally hail from there.
While naturally a left-back, the new Gunners man is equally adept in a more advanced role, or filling in across the heart of the midfield.
