AC Milan ‘suspect Real Madrid are reason behind Gianluigi Donnarumma not renewing his contract’
There is no shortage of potential suitors for the 18-year-old shot-stopper who has had a fine season between the sticks
AC MILAN fear the reason Gianluigi Donnarumma has not signed a new contract is because he is waiting to join Real Madrid.
The 18-year-old Italian goalkeeper has become one of the hottest prospects in world football after a stunning first season as Milan number one.
And now, according to Fox Sports sources in Italy, the Rossoneri believe Real Madrid's rumoured interest is affecting the keeper's decision to sign a new deal.
SunSport has previously reported the Serie A side have offered a new contract to in-demand goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 18-year-old is believed to being tracked by Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea after a sparkling season between the sticks for the Rossoneri.
But after an impasse in negotiations, the Italian club have upped the stakes and offered the wonderkid £3million a year to stay.

They could even go up to £4.5m a year with added bonuses, so desperate are they for their number one to stay at the San Siro.
The 18-year-old has been in a contract stand-off with the Rossoneri hierarchy for months since breaking through as a fresh-faced youngster last season.
Donnarumma is one of the most promising young players in the world and there will be no shortage of suitors for the young stopper’s signature.
And with his agent Mino Raiola, the situation seems to echo Paul Pogba’s initial departure from United, when he left on a Bosman but returned for a world record fee four years later.
