Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane ‘willing to sell Manchester United target Gareth Bale’ to fund move for Monaco ace Kylian Mbappe
REAL MADRID are reportedly willing to sell Manchester United target Gareth Bale in order to fund move for Monaco ace Kylian Mbappe.
The French sensation, 18, is currently the most sought-after star in world football with Real and Arsenal both submitting bids well in excess of £100million for him.
Arsene Wenger trumped Zinedine Zidane's bid of £118m with an outrageous offer of £122m.
The Galacticos now know they may need to go even higher in order to land Mbappe.
According to Don Balon, club president Florentino Perez has told Zidane he will only sign off on the monster deal if they sell one of their "untouchables".
Zidane is keen to offload Bale, with the former world-record signing never quite lived up to his potential in Spain.
Jose Mourinho's Man United have long been interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.
However, one bone of contention appears to be that Zizou and Perez don't quite see eye-to-eye on that front.
Perez would rather see French forward Karim Benzema leave the club, as his long-term plan involves Cristiano Ronaldo playing the lead, central striker role.
The president is hoping to see Ron through the middle with Mbappe and Bale either side.
The duo are more versatile than Benzema and perhaps still have their best footballing days ahead of them.
While Zidane and Perez are still ironing out their differences, one thing is for sure... they're both happy to sell a huge name in order to make a move for Mbappe.
