Bolton boss Phil Parkinson emerges as contender to become Leeds manager to replace Garry Monk at Elland Road

LEEDS UNITED have been linked with a move to bring in Bolton Wanderers' boss Phil Parkinson to Elland Road.
The Sky Bet Championship club are targeting a replacement for Garry Monk who left the Whites hot seat at the end of the season.
He has since been linked to take the managerial spot at Hull City and Middlesbrough, but Leeds are eyeing up an immediate appointment as they prepare for a busy transfer window.
According to the , the Yorkshire side have been left impressed with Parkinson after he guided Bolton back to England's top-tier at the first time of asking as they finished second in League One behind Sheffield United.
New chairman and owner Andrea Radrizzani will be meeting with potential candidates this week, with former Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka also in the running to takeover.

Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League as they finished seventh in the table, falling just short of the play-off places.
Parkinson has guided three clubs to promotion - finishing as runners-up in League one with Colchester United in 2006, winning the League Two play-off final with Bradford City in 2013, and this season's success with the Trotters.
In addition to his impressive honours as a manager, the Bantams finished as runners-up against Swansea City in the League Cup final in 2013, and also were FA Cup quarter-finalists in 2015 where they hammered Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge in the run-in.
Bolton would be due compensation if Parkinson moves on, having only took up the reigns at the Macron Stadium last year.
