Liverpool boss Klopp was tracking Danish-born Mor before he made the move from Nordsjaelland to Dortmund last summer.

The Kop boss is now weighing up a loan for the youngster with an option of a permanent deal.

Mor, who played for Turkey at the Euros last year, made the bulk of his appearances off the bench under Thomas Tuchel before the German’s departure.

The Reds are banned from signing players for their academy after admitting "tapping up" a Stoke prospect.

The ban is for two years but the second 12 months has been suspended for three years.

Klopp's  side, who were also fined £100,000, said in a statement: "The club accepts the sanction."

The case involves forbidden inducements offered to a 12-year-old player, who Liverpool accept they spoke to before they should have. The club also paid for him and some of his family to go to a game at Anfield.

Liverpool also offered to pay the player's school fees, which were already being paid by Stoke, in a breach of newly introduced regulations.

Reds were last night forced into an embarrassing climbdown after illegally approaching Virgil van Dijk.

Southampton received an apology from the Reds following claims their £70million-rated star met Jurgen Klopp in secret.

Anfield boss Klopp is also alleged to have sent Van Dijk a number of texts.

Furious Saints, who reported the Merseysiders to the Premier League, insist they will not sell Van Dijk and Liverpool say they have now ended their interest in the defender.

A Kop statement said: "Liverpool FC would like to put on record our regret over recent media speculation regarding Southampton and player transfers between the two clubs. We apologise to the owner, board of directors and fans of Southampton for any misunderstanding regarding Virgil van Dijk.

"We respect Southampton's position and can confirm we have ended any interest in the player."

Klopp had made Van Dijk, 25, his No 1 target and is said to have met him in Blackpool without the knowledge of Saints, who have seen stars like Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren leave for Anfield.

Van Dijk only signed a new six-year deal last year.
