AHMED MUSA is on the verge of quitting Leicester after just one year having flopped since arriving in the Premier League.

Musa is locked in talks with Fenerbahce over a £17.4million move away from the King Power after failing to impress in his only season in England.

The Nigerian international striker was supposed to help the club move on to the next level after he was signed for £16.6m from CSKA Moscow last summer.

And after scoring twice in a pre-season friendly against Barcelona there were huge expectations that he would be a major force in the Premier League.

But when it came to the crunch he was unable to impose himself in the top flight, scoring just four goals in 31 appearances for the club.

His only two Premier League goals came in October last year as it became clear he was struggling to adapt to life in the top flight.

Leicester now look to have decided to offload the 24-year-old as manager Craig Shakespeare tries to build his own squad having agreed a three-year deal to remain in charge.

And according to they appear to have made a small profit on their investment by accepting a £17.4m bid from Fernerbahce.

Musa himself is understood to have already held talks over personal terms, having decided he needed to make a move to kick-start his career.

And he is close to agreeing  a deal to make the move to Turkey where he feels he can finally show his best form after his troubles in the midlands.

Leicester boss Shakespeare faces a busy summer as he overseas what is likely to be a major overhaul of his squad.

Star man Riyad Mahrez is pushing for a move away from the club, with Chelsea among the sides showing an interest.

But the Foxes value the Algerian at £50m, a figure that may be too high for many of his suitors to match, so Leicester may have to compromise on their asking price.
