Leyton Orient striker Gavin Massey chased by Wigan, Bradford and Portsmouth
Striker to be part of mass exodus in East London as releagted Orient go from one crisis to another as they start life next season in National League
Wigan, Portsmouth and Bradford are in a three-way tussle for Leyton Orient striker Gavin Massey.
Massey has exercised an option in his contract to leave Brisbane Road following relegation to the National League after just one season with the club.
Massey, 24, scored eight goals in a turbulent season for the east Londoners, as they survived going bust and possible mutiny when players and club staff went months without pay.
The former Colchester forward is keen to stay in the Football League and has not been short on offers, just weeks after the season finished.
New Latics boss Paul Cook is a fan, but will have stiff competition from his former club Portsmouth who were promoted to League 1 as champions.
Cook laid the foundations for Pompey’s interest and will hope the chance of playing in the Championship will be enough to take Massey to the DW stadium.
League One play-off final losers Bradford are also searching for additional firepower and are keen to speak to the striker and his representatives.
Massey will follow Liam Kelly, Tom Parkes and Jordan Bowery out of Orient, after they all departed on free transfers.
