The two sets of fans are still at loggerheads following the world-record controversial sale of Roberto Baggio to Juventus in 1990.

La Viola are desperate to keep hold of their star with this season offering Serie A clubs four places in the Champions League for the first time since 2011.

However, they accept an offer of £35m plus would be too good to refuse.

Fiorentina would prefer to let Bernardeschi go abroad and would push for United and Chelsea to come in with a substantial offer.

While they would also accept a sale to Inter — anyone but Juventus.

However, he would ultimately go to the highest bidder, and a move to the Turin giants is always extremely alluring for any young Italian footballer.

United look set to bring in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but are keen to bring in another striker.

Andrea Belotti is one of the names on the agenda, but he would cost double the price of Bernardeschi.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte has told Diego Costa he does not feature in his plans and will need to move for a replacement.

Having seemingly missed out on Morata, it looks like the Blues will move for Romelu Lukaku but, again, a deal for Bernardeschi could be struck for half the price.
