Barcelona have offered Verratti a contract worth £170,000-a-week — with bonuses on top — which is nearly treble his current wages at PSG.
However, Antonio Conte, who tried to sign him while manager of Juventus back in 2012, wants him at Chelsea.
It appears the former Italy boss has decided Cesc Fabregas is not part of his plans — and wants a youthful replacement.
While Carlo Ancelotti would also been keen on a reunion with Verratti.
It was the current Bayern boss who launched the midfielder’s career when he signed him for PSG in 2012.
And Ancelotti has already decided Renato Sanches does not form part of his plans.
However, Barcelona are in the driving seat as they look for a swift return to the No.1 spot in Europe after losing both La Liga in the Champions League.
But, PSG are in no rush to sell and are holding out for a world-record £132m.
